RESPITE HOUSING FOR PERSONS WITH SUBSTANCE ABUSE DISORDER

In partnership with the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Homeless Services, HACE rehabilitated this 13,585 square foot building located in the Episcopal/Temple Hospital Campus into a Respite Center. The Respite Center, with a maximum capacity of 60 enrollment slots, provides temporary housing, medical services and other supports to homeless persons suffering from substance abuse disorder. The overarching goal of this initiative is to help transition individuals into comprehensive substance abuse treatment programs that provide a path to recovery and stability. The Respite Center will also serve as a warming and cooling center for the community during intense weather conditions.

HACE achieved 91% Minority Business Enterprise participation in the development of Beacon House. This $2.7 million investment, completed on April 2021, was made possible with support from the Office of Homeless Services.
